Italy: which airline to choose?
Summer is over but that does not mean you should give up travelling. There are summer destinations which are visited by millions of tourists because of its sea and beaches. And when the summer ends there comes time of sightseeing. Italy is one of those destinations.
Did you know that the state of Italy with its 45 sites has the highest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites? The aim of travelling to Italy is clear but how do we get there? „When in Rome, do as do Romans do“, says the proverb and we might change it into „When in Italy, fly as the Italians fly“ and choose one the best three Italian airlines: Alitalia, Air Italy and Meridiana.
Exotic with Air Italy
Lovers of no-frills airlines can be found also in this southern country and they prefer airline called Air Italy. The airline was established in May 2005 and in 2008 carried approximately 1 million passengers. Air Italy provides domestic flights from Verona, Naples and Turin bases but the airline focuses on markets served with medium and long-haul flights, such as North-East Brazil (Fortaleza, Maceio and Natal) and Madagascar.
Low cost Meridiana
Much bigger is another Italian low cost airline Meridiana. On February 28, 2010 Meridiana and Eurofly merged to create Italy's second biggest airline, Meridiana fly. Meridiana provides both domestic and international flights from its main hubs at the airports in Verona, Milan and Florence. The airline wants to be the vacation airline for customers, tour operators and travel agencies. Meridiana also offers the weekend getaways and city breaks flights.
If you prefer to travel with a respected carrier, choose Alitalia. The airline operates services to many domestic and international destinations in Europe, Africa, Americas and Asia. Alitalia is the world's 19th largest passenger airline by fleet size and its fleet consists of respectable 149 aircraft. You can become a real globetrotter with Alitalia because the airline is part of the SkyTeam alliance program and you may fly far far away with other partner airline.
What To Do in Italy You Wonder?
Italy is often nicknamed Bel paese, which means „beautiful country“. We suggest that you go ahead and see for yourself that the Italians don't use this designation for nothing. In this 4 day trip to Florence & Rome with Tripomatic you'll see all the best sights and attractions.
When you are lucky and quick enough, you might grab an airfare deal to your desired destination, save on air ticket and spend more on tickets to museums. Have a safe flight!
