Emirates: baggage allowance

Back to news

We continue our informative series presenting the baggage allowance of various airlines.

In today's episode we will have a look at the renowned and award-winning carrier Emirates.

Emirates – cabin baggage allowance

There is a set of general rules governing how much baggage one can carry onto the plane but some routes may diverge from these rules.

Economy Class travellers are allowed to carry on board one item of cabin baggage which does not exceed 55×38×20 cm (22×15×8 inches) and which weighs no more than 7 kg (15 lb).

The exception here are travellers boarding in India: the size of their cabin baggage may not exceed 115 cm (45.3 inches) totally (length + width + height).

Emirates – checked baggage

Emirates checked baggage allowance is truly generous – the general allowance on numerous routes for economy class passengers is 30 kg.

This does not apply to travellers flying to USA, Brazil and Canada. Again, use the baggage allowance calculator to find out the exact amount of kilogrammes allowed on your flight. Furthermore, remember that any item weighing more than 32 kg must be accepted by the Dubai Civil Aviation if you travel from, to or via Dubai Airport.

Extra baggage

Certain groups of passengers are allowed to have transported extra baggage or equipment free of charge. This includes such items as fully collapsible wheelchairs, braces/crutches and portable dialysis machines.

Other than that, vision- and hearing-impaired travellers may bring assistance dogs with them provided that the dog is travelling in a kennel in the aircraft hold.

    Hello farihah,
yes, you can take your lipstick onboard. However, don't forget to put into bag with liquids.
